Networking ..we all talk about it …social networking, personal networking, business networking, networking networking …. We join groups, churches, country clubs, service clubs, gyms, neighborhood groups, hobby clubs, climbing groups, biking groups, card groups, bunko ..etc ..all the while under the guise of “networking” and building our business contacts …building our influence group ….with the hope that people in the group that we join will do business with us…..without us actually being so blatant as to ask them if they will work with us …

No Magic Bullet
We’ve all either fallen for something (and spent money almost always) on programs, tools, pyramid schemes ..you name it…. looking for a quick path to fortune. Every industry has it’s “no fail” methods that mostly “don’t fail” to separate our money from our wallet.
Seth Godin’s latest blog post gives us his insight and reminder that it takes work and perserverance for success …. Get rich quick
Status Quo is Status Recedo
Interestingly there is no direct Latin word for backwards or reverse. Retreat in Latin is “Recedo”, which is what happens to a business that tries to not lose ground. They retreat and eventually are “Status Mortuus”.
The current death rate of companies are escalating. Most of them ( if not all of them) because they tried to not lose ..instead of striving to win, change, etc.
They spend so much time reassuring everyone that everything is ok ..”Status Quo” …that they ..”Status Recedo”.
They lose the opportunity for change, creativity and growth.
The agents at Real Estate Professionals GMAC are changing the landscape of real estate in Redding and in Shasta County. We know that “just when you think you’ve arrived …you’re behind”. Not sure who originally said that thought..but it’s true

Don’t settle for “Status Quo” when you need a real estate agent or company.
Four Criteria to Select the Best Real Estate Company to Work For
Tis the season when a lot of agents change companies.
The reasons vary …so if you are a real estate professional and are considering a change, here’s some criteria to consider.
Here’s my synopsis of the 4 really, really, really (no really) important criteria to look for:
1. Productive, positive environment. Now’s not the time to be around a bunch of agents who are hanging on the wall next to their licenses. You need to be with a positive group of agents who are actually doing real work.
2. Great staff support. Strong broker supported staff support can save you bunches of time and money …find them
3. Great systems. The availability of systems for prospecting, listings, expireds, contact management etc are absolutely critical to a strong business plan. Check out who provides what and how willing they are to support their systems and you.
4. Non-competing broker. A true broker/owner can’t lead 2 lives. They are either 110% there to support you and your business( e.g. they live and die for your success) or they are trying to supplement their income by competing with you for transactions. There really isn’t a middle ground….although if they are selling then they will want you to believe that they are benign …they aren’t…
