Headed to the Fair?
The annual Shasta District Fair located in Anderson California is set to kick off today June 11, 2008 with Pepsi Kids Day. As all the 4-H and FFA exhibitors set to start showing their market animals, the excitement and hard work begin to pay off.
8 am the Jr. Sheep and poultry exhibitors show. The splash dogs contest is being held Wednesday through Friday. If you think you have the best water dock jumping dog, bring them on down to the fair. $10 dollars gets you practice and another $10 you can enter the contest.
Thursday is Senior Citizens day. The Open horse show starts today with Halter horses. Over in the livestock barns the Jr. swine and dairy cattle will be exhibited. Shasta County Idol starts tonight at 6:30 PM. Be sure to check out the local talent.
Friday the Open English show continues at the arena. The 4-H and FFA exhibitors show beef today. At 8 Pm Terri Clark is in concert in the grandstands. Free with fair admission.
Saturday Kicks off with the Jr. Livestock auction. Please stop by and support the 4-H and FFA kids. They have spent many hours working hard to get to this point, and appreciate the businesses that support the Auction.
Aside from the livestock their are buildings filled with flower, cooking and mechanics entries. Below are a list of prices and some of the fair attractions.

Fair highlights
The Shasta District Fair will present multiple hypnotist shows, food contests, live music and ongoing exhibits. For a complete schedule, go to www.shastadistrictfair.com.
• Shasta County Idol: 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Sunday, 6 p.m. Saturday.
• Splash dogs: 2 and 7 p.m. Wednesday to Friday, 1 and 6 p.m. Saturday, noon and 2 p.m. Sunday.
• Battle of Bands: 5, 6 and 9 p.m. Friday.
• Terri Clark concert: 8 p.m. Friday.
• Livestock sale: 8 a.m. Saturday. Champions sale at noon.
• Auto racing: Hornets, bombers, modifieds. 7 p.m. Saturday.
• Demolition Derby: 7 p.m. Sunday.
• Admission: $7 adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12 and seniors ages 62 and over. Season admission is five passes for $22.50 in advance, $35 starting Wednesday.
• Fairgrounds: Highway 273 and Briggs Street, Anderson.
• Parking: $5.
• Hours: Gates open at 11 a.m. each day; close at 11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, midnight Friday and Saturday, 10 p.m. Sunday.
• Headliner: Terri Clark concert, 8 p.m. Friday. Free with fair admission; dress circle, $15.
• Carnival rides: All-day pass, $23 in advance, $30 starting Wednesday.
